The Claim Administrator will analyze the Title Insurance claims when they come in, do the research and work the claim through the process.
- Receive and process notices of title insurance claims for title insurance underwriters
- Determine agent, obtain proof of insurance, examine real property and escrow documents
- Determine insurability and issue applicable resolution and/or response letters to claimant and underwriter's agent, applying state specific real property laws to each claim matter
- Communicate with various state and regional underwriting counsel for legal advice
- Advise claimants and underwriters' agents of defects and requirements for resolving title defects
- Draft Certificates of Release to clear prior, unreleased mortgages (when agent is closed or cancelled)
- Hire outside counsel, when necessary, for litigation matters
- Monitor urgency, priority, flow, and number of claims/clearance matters for various states
Must have previous litigation, banking, foreclosure, title or real estate experience to be considered.
