Job Purpose:
To serve meals and drinks to hotel guests according to established rules of etiquette and promoting sales.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Serves ice water and/or coffee upon greeting the table
- Presents menu to guest, suggesting dinner courses, appropriate wines, and answering questions regarding food preparation.
- Relays order to kitchen or bar
- Totals bill and accepts payment
- Completes restaurant side work as assigned
- Bussing tables, completing tray runs and general upkeep of the bar and restaurant
- Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Serves wine, bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
- Places bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
- Washes glasses, bar, and equipment.
- Stocks and replenishes glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit, and guest supplies.
- May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Position Requirements:
- Must take initiative to great guests in a friendly and warm manner
- Must have a great attitude and excellent customer services skills
- Must report to work on time for scheduled shifts
- Must know and comply with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties
- Previous bartending experience is required
