Cabela's, World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting and fishing gear, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Logistics Analyst to work at our corporate office in Sidney, NE.
This position develops analysis studies as needed throughout the logistics department, participate in strategic projects with logistics department(s), ensure department reporting in performed in a consistent manner, also report progress results to senior management. Functions to include "what if" scenario building, identify supply chain impacts as they relate to logistics, work with logistics department(s) on strategic initiatives. This position ensures preparation of accurate and timely logistics analysis by using available data sources. The analysis drives Cabela's current and future logistics strategies.
ESSENTIAL ACTIVIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and conduct analysis studies for logistics departments to base decisions. These measure business impacts to logistics such as financial costs, service levels, and benefits in business decisions.
- Design and drive reporting of logistics metrics on inbound, outbound, intra-company transportation. This will support functional operating plans (FOP) and push improvements both operationally and financially.
- Develop and organize logistics budgets annually for all logistics departments. Use the annually created budgets to monitor financial goals set by the department which role out to the entire business.
- Initiate and continue to evolve strategic initiatives to improve areas of transportation costs, service, and accuracy in reporting metrics. Each project produces a measured value to the department and/or business. The Sr. Logistics Analyst is to analyze opportunities, take part in solution making, and incorporate the project into current processes.
- Work to train users on procedures, present key report metrics to business users, and demonstrate improvement opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
- Database experience, writing code, normalizing information, many different formats of data are used in this position
- Transportation experience in truckload, LTL, small parcel, international shipments, intermodal, need to understand limits and rules of thumb for carrier types
- Financial experience to include GL posting, accurals, financial reporting is an important part of this role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent and two to four years experience.
