Description:
*Assists the teacher and provides services for the students in both special education and general education setting.
Job Summary:
*Assist teacher with both educational and physical needs of students.
Qualifications:
- Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education; or an associates degree; or a paraeducator certificate.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Previous experience in working with special needs students in an educational setting preferred.
- Experience in student behavioral management and working with autism preferred.
Working Conditions:
Generally works indoors in a temperature controlled classroom, noise levels are moderate to some times loud. Employee may be required to; sit, stand, move, bend, and kneel, may be required to lift up to 75 lbs., to push and pull wheelchairs, books, supplies or other instructional supplies.
