This position is to assist with improvements to the audiovisual classrooms and perform routine maintenance on the current 100+ audiovisual classrooms on campus. Responsibilities include:
- Installing custom systems (non podium) to include projectors, control system, auxiliary equipment, network connections and appropriate electrical support for equipment and lighting.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment; troubleshoot technical and non-technical issues involving classroom audiovisual setups.
- Supporting Help Desk technical support requirements by applying diagnostic procedures to determine sources of problems.
- Assisting in production of regular reports and written documentation of inventory, equipment sources, planning and installation procedures, and technical specifications for custom installations.
- Assisting Media Services as needed to support other audiovisual equipment across campus.
- Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma required, with some college coursework preferred.
- Two year’s experience installing and supporting complex audiovisual systems, preferably in an educational environment.
- One year’s experience supporting and troubleshooting personal computers including software imaging.
- Current knowledge in set-up and operation of audiovisual hardware, wiring, and ability to troubleshoot.
- Proficient in soldering and cable termination to include BNC, XLR, RCA, and DB connectors.
- Knowledge of AMX control systems preferred.
- Ability to follow systematic trouble shooting procedures to resolve technical challenges to successfully meet program objectives.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral, and interpersonal skills.
