Data Warehouse Architect
The Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence Architect’s role is to strategically design and implement data warehouses, data marts, and data stores, while ensuring high levels of data availability. In addition to data management, this role will be responsible for the architecture, design, and deployment of Business Intelligence environments including reports, scorecards, and dashboards. This individual will also be responsible for defining data standards and models for warehouse and BI architectures. This individual should be recognized as a subject matter expert for the areas of development of a Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence environment.
The BI DW Architect influences other developers on the architecture and design of user interfaces and business related objects. The BI/DW Architect interfaces with business users to understand their needs and then translates them into solutions they use to provide value to the business.
Required Experience:
· A proven understanding and experience in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence architecture and design, development, and implementation.
· 7+ years experience with data warehouse architecture, design and development. A working understanding of Kimball & Inmon methodologies is a plus.
· 7+ years hands-on experience with Data Warehouse implementations (covering all areas from architecture, design, ETL development [data extraction, transformation, loading], reporting & analysis, audit trails and checks for data marts/warehouses)
· 5+ years experience with relational and dimensional modeling
· 5+ years experience with SQL and MDX query language
· 4+ years experience in developing reports, scorecards, and dashboards.
· 5+ years working experience with Microsoft’s BI suite (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Performance Point). Most of the experience with 2005 – 2008
· Must have excellent customer facing and communication skills including listening, speaking, presentation, and ability to deliver information to both business and technical audiences.
· Strong experience in OLAP/Cube design and build
· Thorough knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling techniques.
· Strong experience in scoping and estimating DW/BI projects
· Technical coordination of others in medium and large scale projects

· Facilitation of requirements and design sessions between business and technical resources
· Translate functional and analytic requirements into technical solutions that deliver business value
· Architecture and design of Enterprise DW / BI environments
· Relational and Dimensional modeling in support of designed environments, includes logical and physical designs
· Architecture and design of ETL, OLAP/cubes, reports, dashboards, & scorecards.
· Architecture and design of Meta Data Management strategies.
· Develop Statements of Work for project engagements
· Develop, implement, and enforce design and development standards and procedures.
· Ensures appropriate documentation both in program code and externally.
· Apply Data Warehouse and BI best practices
· Attend and provide technical support for client meetings
· Facilitate necessary client training sessions
· Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to other employees.
