The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide strategic leadership and direction for the Association as well as to provide direct leadership in the development of the sales and marketing of profitable AgDirect products and services to designated Vice Presidents and Directors of AgDirect. Serve as a coach and mentor to these leaders by selecting and developing talent, improving delivery channels, identifying product enhancements and change transition processes that support a customer sales and service orientation. Develop and maintain a highly visible professional presence throughout the agricultural industry and governmental sectors. Senior Vice President will serve as a primary liaison and relationship manager with respect to Agribank, Farm Credit Associations participating in the AgDirect trade credit program, Farm Credit Leasing, and other business leaders on change transition process and service delivery. The success of the position will be an effective implementation of AgDirect on a regional/national scale.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
AgDirect Strategic Business Development:
• Provide leadership and coordination of the key Association strategic relationships, and business alliances to promote AgDirect opportunities. Assure activities meet organizational priorities and business objectives.
• Involvement in relationship building activities to create and promote opportunities to leverage systems, services and solutions in the sale of AgDirect solutions.
• Serve as the Association spokesperson for AgDirect products and program, which includes initiating the release of media information (written and oral) and industry presentations.
• Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures in line with the philosophical position of the Association and industry practices.
• Actively involved in assessing and changing marketplace delivery models to insure Association objectives are met.
• Responsible for relationship management for third party delivery channels.
Leadership:
• Develop and enhance executive level relationships with applicable strategic business partners.
• Responsible for relationships with key strategic business leaders and industry influencers.
• Responsible for overall business planning and approval of business unit budgets.
• Ensure that major Association initiatives are implemented, standardized and adhered including the activities around Association’s Strategic Objectives.
• Work with Agribank to ensure that agreed established criteria and appropriate parameters are adopted and executed.
• Provide visionary thinking and shapes strategies to reach Association goals.
• Serve as a Senior Leader of the organization.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all areas of the Association.
Human Resources:
• Provide team leadership to inspire Association vision, consistent with core values and team principles.
• Instill a participative work team environment and develop the team and individuals into highly engaged teams.
• Conduct performance appraisals and salary administration in a timely manner. Counsel direct reports on performance issues, training/development needs, and follow-up on individual development plans throughout the year.
• Provide strategic direction for human resource allocation and department structure to meet quality and growth objectives.
• Provide input to other leaders on team member selections and serve on interview teams as needed.
• Responsible for attracting, developing, and coaching a diversified and qualified work force.
• Complete personal self-developments plans.
Other Duties:
• Develop and maintain a significant “professional presence” throughout the assigned business development area. Generally contributes to the Association’s image as the leading agricultural financial institution.
• Serve as member of Senior Leadership.
• Sponsors/Lead/serves on cross-functional teams.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 10 to 12 years of related agricultural finance experience, plus a minimum of 7 to 9 years of leadership experience required.
Duties require:
• In-depth knowledge of Farm Credit Services of America • Demonstrated competence in business development, marketing, and public relations.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
Contact with Association Board of Directors, representatives of other Farm Credit entities, Farm Credit Administration, and other business leaders. Extensive internal contact with Senior Leaders and other leaders in the organization.
