Director, Pharmacy/Nutrition Care
Position Description
Administer, direct and coordinate all pharmaceutical and nutrition care services for The Nebraska Medical Center in accordance with established policy at The Nebraska Medical Center's main campus. Provide oversight for the quality and cost effectiveness of the patient care distributive services provided to patients in the inpatient and outpatient facilities. Execute strategic and tactical plans developed in coordination with the department's leadership team and the executive director. Assure security and control of medications throughout The Nebraska Medical Center. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance by staff and in the medication use process throughout the medical center. Ensure that competent professionals are hired to provide comprehensive services. - Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy and license (or eligible for license) to practice pharmacy in the state of Nebraska required. - B.S. Pharmacy AND Masters Degree in pharmacy or related field OR a Doctor of Pharmacy degree required. Masters Degree in pharmacy or related field preferred. - Minimum of five years pharmacy midlevel management or higher experience in a teaching hospital environment required. Pharmacy experience in a director level role preferred. - PGY1 and/or PGY2 Pharmacy residencies preferred. - Evidence of leadership in pharmacy practice and professional organizations required. - Demonstrated experience of scholarly activity and publications consistent with appointment of at least the assistant professor level in a college of pharmacy required. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. - Leadership skills which demonstrate the ability to understand, communicate, and support the strategic objectives of The Nebraska Medical Center required. - Possess a working knowledge of financial analysis, health care markets, and performance improvement required.
