Position Description

General Summary: Manage existing Employee Benefit clients

 
Essential Job Functions:          
  1. Maintain block of business by servicing your block of group clients.
  2. Develop and deliver benefit presentations in a professional and effective manner to existing clients which may include employer and employee meetings.
  3. Solve complex benefit issues, respond to all client and employee claims and benefit questions.
  4. Review of Carrier Contracts and Client Summary Plan Descriptions for accuracy.
  5. Negotiate renewals with carriers on behalf of your client. Market to the carrier industry as needed. Explain alternate funding, including self insurance, etc.
  6. Technical knowledge pertinent to Federal and State industry legislation.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
  8. Available to travel as needed.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Ability to set goals, prioritize work and work under time constraints.
  2. Ability to communicate in a knowledgeable manner both orally and in writing with clients, members and carriers.
  3. Must conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.
  4. Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and customer service skills. (friendly, courteous and helpful)
  5. Maintain up to date awareness of industry & government guidelines and regulations.
  6. Maintain Nebraska State Life & Health insurance license.      
 
Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school education or equivalent required. College degree preferred. Experience working with employee benefit plans necessary.
 
Working Conditions:    Primarily non-smoking, office environment. Occasional off site work environment may vary due to client visits; i.e. warehouse, farm, manufacturing, etc.
